Cervim celebrates World Mountain Day

The mountain is life, the mountain is nature and biodiversity. The mountain is also unique landscapes and dry stone walls, slopes and heroic viticulture. A day to celebrate it, and to remember that the mountain must be protected and lived every day.

We heroic winegrowers in our mountains in Italy and in the world have decided to live and work there, cultivating our vineyards, thus guaranteeing the community the presence of man, avoiding the abandonment of the most extreme territories and avoiding, as far as possible, hydrogeological instability.

"It should be remembered that these areas, however, are not open-air museums, but have a strategic and irreplaceable socio-economic and environmental role, and where, moreover, high quality wines are produced always objectively recognized".This is underlined by Stefano Celi, Cervim President, on the occasion of the International Day of the Mountain, which is celebrated all over the world every 11 December.

The event was officially established in 2003 by the United Nations General Assembly, while the event is coordinated globally by FAO, the UN food and agriculture organization.
